Taxonomy
Psychoda tzotzili was named by Stebner and Solórzano Kraemer (2014). Its type specimen is UCMP 10380, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is UCMP B-7045, El Portugal landslide, Simojovel region, which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in Mexico.
