Taxonomy
Sphaerocoryphe gemina was named by Tripp et al. (1997). Its type specimen is ROM 50739, a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Loc. 3. south side of road, 0.2 mile east of Strasburg Junction, which is in a Turinian carbonate limestone in the Edinburg Formation of Virginia.

Genal spines stout, divergent. Single profixigenal spine. Prosopon of fixigena finer and denser than that of frontal lobe. Sutural ridge and socle of librigena weakly developed. Hypostome elongate, posterior margin convex backward. |
