Taxonomy
Palaehydropsyche fossilis was named by Wichard (1986). Its type specimen is BMNH In. 64598, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican Amber (NHML/BMNH collection), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic. It is the type species of Palaehydropsyche.
