Prioniodella inclinata was named by Branson and Mehl (1933). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Prioniodus excavatus by Branson and Mehl (1933); it was recombined as Neoprioniodus excavatus by Rexroad and Nicoll (1972); it was recombined as Ozarkodina inclinata by Walliser (1972); it was synonymized subjectively with Ozarkodina excavata by Aldridge (1974); it was recombined as Hindeodella excavata by Jeppsson (1974); it was recombined as Wurmiella excavata by Murphy et al. (2004), Murphy et al. (2004) and Corradini and Corriga (2010).
