Taxonomy
Leptaena ziegleri was named by Cocks (1968). Its type specimen is OUM C4146, a valve (Pedicle valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Malvern Hills, Herefordshire, which is in a Telychian marine horizon in the Wych Formation of the United Kingdom.
