Jurina reducta was named by Martynov (1938). Its type specimen is PIN 117/680, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Letopala River (PIN collection 117), which is in a Roadian lagoonal siliciclastic in the Iva-Gora Beds Formation of the Russian Federation.
