Taxonomy
Zonovia subelshamensis was named by Mesezhnikov (1969). Its type specimen is VNIGRI 220/686, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Zonovia (Zonovia) subelshamensis by Mesezhnikov (1984).
