Libanopsis impexa was named by Kirejtshuk (2015). Its type specimen is Azar 474 B, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Lebanese amber, Mdeyrij-Hammana (LU collection), which is in a Barremian terrestrial amber in Lebanon.
