Taxonomy
Discina pileolus was named by Whiteaves (1889). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rink Rapids, Lewes River, which is in a Bajocian marine horizon in Canada.

It was recombined as Orbiculoidea pileolus by Crickmay (1933).
