Taxonomy
Cortezorthis cortezensis was named by Johnson and Talent (1967). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM 10762. Horse Creek Valley Quadrangle, northern Simpson Park Range, which is in an Emsian marine limestone in the McColley Canyon Formation of Nevada.
