Taxonomy
Archaemegaptilus schloesseri was named by Brauckmann et al. (2003). Its type specimen is WMFN Münster P21672, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Hagen-Vorhalle quarry (Westfalisches Landesmuseum collection), which is in a Marsdenian estuary/bay shale/sandstone in Germany.
