Taxonomy
Acuticarpus republicensis was named by Sumrall et al. (1997) [Acuticarpus? republicensis]. Its type specimen is 1795TX1 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality RP-1, Republic Creek, which is in a Steptoean marginal marine conglomerate in the Snowy Range Formation of Wyoming.
