Achradocystites was named by Volborth (1870). Its type is Achradocystites grewingkii.

It was assigned to Comarocystitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Achradocystitidae by Rozhnov (2017).

Rozhnov 2017Large elon- gate-ovate theca with large flat tegmen of five large oral plates and one small plate, with the hydropore on its border; low basal circlet of three plates; large mid- dle region between tegmen and basals built of small pyramidally convex plates, each with internal pore, and systems of radial and tangential canals. Small anal pyramid in upper half of theca near its shoulder approximately in ray C or interray BC. Three large brachioles in rays B, D, and E and possessing brachi- olets extending to the right or left of each brachiolar. Stem wide, of low columnals with trilobed axial canal. Stem and orals sometimes with ornamentation of small tubercles.
