|R. L. Parsley and L. W. Mintz 1975||Theca oval to subconical, composed of c. 40 generally irregularly hexagonal plates arranged in nine uneven, vertical-oblique rows. Three basals present. Two epithecal arms split laterally, resulting in four, five, or six dextrally spiraled branches; food grooves lateral, on concave curvature of each branch arm lumens oval, extend length of arm; underarm thecal calluses prominent, grooved axially. Peristome at distal apex; posterior periproct closely adjacent. Column attachment offset antero-left laterally from bilateral plane of symmetry.|
