It was recombined as Leptocoelia acutiplicata by Hall (1867); it was recombined as Coelospira acutiplicata by Hall and Clarke (1894); it was recombined as Anoplotheca acutiplicata by Kindle (1912); it was recombined as Leptocoelina acutiplicata by Johnson (1970); it was recombined as Pacificocoelia acutiplicata by Boucot and Rehmer (1977); it was recombined as Atlanticocoelia acutiplicata by Koch (1996).
