Taxonomy
Ceraurus intermedius was named by Kielan (1955).

It was corrected as Ceraurus intermedia by Kielan (1965); it was recombined as Ceraurinium intermedia by Pribyl et al. (1985); it was recombined as Ceraurinella intermedia by Whittington (1968) and Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (1991).
