Taxonomy
Isotelus violaensis was named by Amati (2014) [= ?1987. Isotelus homalonotoides (Walcott, 1877) in DeMott, pl. 3, figs. 21-26.]. Its type specimen is OU 11782, a cephalon/head (exfoliated cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 99-48. U.S. Highway 99 Section, which is in a Turinian carbonate limestone in the Bromide Formation of Oklahoma.

Lateral border of pygidium strongest over posterior 1/3 of pygidium, becomes much wider directly behind axis. |
