Transridgeia costata

Taxonomy
Transridgeia costata was named by Rasmussen et al. (2012). Its type specimen is MGUH 29451 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality A-1230 Blocks 4-6, which is in an Ashbyan deep subtidal ramp limestone/siltstone in the Telsitna Formation of Alaska. It is the type species of Transridgeia.

C. M. O. Rasmussen et al. 2012Shell large, concavo-convex, wider than long, with subcircular outline. Interareas low, wide. Delthyrium high, moderately wide, covered completely by dental plates. Notothyrium wide, partly covered by apical chilidium. Ornamentation consists of 10–11 simple costae. Cardinal process bifid. Dorsal median septum surrounded by a complex arrangement of side septa and transverse ridges on a bemalike structure.
