Taxonomy
Cretophotina selenginensis was named by Vršanský (2002). Its type specimen is PIN 4306/180, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Sharin-Gol (PIN collection 4306), which is in a Barremian terrestrial horizon in the Sharin-Gol Formation of Mongolia.
