Taxonomy
Cornuta was named by Jaekel (1901). It is not extant. It was considered monophyletic by Lefebvre (2001).
It was assigned to Stylophora by Beaver et al. (1967), Ubaghs (1994), Lefebvre and Vizcaino (1999), Ubaghs (1999), Sumrall and Sprinkle (1999), Lefebvre (2001), Sepkoski (2002), Lee et al. (2006) and Sumrall et al. (2009).
It was assigned to Stylophora by Beaver et al. (1967), Ubaghs (1994), Lefebvre and Vizcaino (1999), Ubaghs (1999), Sumrall and Sprinkle (1999), Lefebvre (2001), Sepkoski (2002), Lee et al. (2006) and Sumrall et al. (2009).
