Taxonomy
Leangella hamari was named by Spjeldnaes (1957). Its type specimen is PMO 37879, a shell (complete shell), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Leangella (Leangella) hamari by Candela and Harper (2014).

A. Williams 1962Strongly concavo-convex, subtriangular Leangella with a finely parvicostellate ornamentation divided into sectors by strong radiating primary costae; lophophore platform small and subpetaloid in outline, two-thirds as long as wide and less than one-third as long as the brachial valve; ventral musclescar subcordate, small, about one-sixth as long as the pedicle valve.
