Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
A. Williams 1962Strongly concavo-convex Bimuria with the pedicle valve about one-half as deep as long, wider than long in young stages of growth but adult shells commonly longer than wide with a subquadrate outline, anterior commissure of adult specimens rectimarginate and more commonly sulcate with a high median fold in the pedicle valve rarely flanked by lateral plicae; surface ornament of concentric comae originating at about 6 mm. from the umbo of the pedicle valve; dorsal interior with a median septum more or less buried in thick deposits of secondary shell substance adherent also to the submedian septa, which extend to the anterior margin; outer ridges to the lophophore and muscle apparatus strongly developed, curved and convergent anteriorly with the submedian septa.
