Plecia jucunda

Taxonomy
Protomyia jucunda was named by Heer (1849). Its type specimen is SMNK Oe. 168 Inv. 1279, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Oeningen (Carlsruhe collection), which is in a Sarmatian crater lake limestone in the Upper Freshwater-Molasse Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Penthetria jucunda by Evenhuis (1994); it was recombined as Plecia jucunda by Skartveit and Pika (2014).
