Buprestites kudiensis was named by Cockerell (1926). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Kudia River, which is in a Burdigalian lacustrine - small shale/diatomite in the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Buprestis kudiensis by Bellamy (2008).
