Taxonomy
Margarosmilia mizukamia was named by Stanley and Onoue (2015). Its type specimen is UMIP 14400 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is M-14, Mizukamigoe, which is in a Lacian perireef or subreef limestone in Japan.
