Taxonomy
Thecosmilia eguchii was named by Kanmera (1964). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ko.278, Kuma River, which is in a Carnian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Koguchi Formation of Japan.
It was recombined as Retiophyllia eguchii by Stanley and Onoue (2015).
