Taxonomy
Palaeonarica orientalis was named by Pan (1977). Its type specimen is NIGP 24309, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is YHS458, Heping township, Jinggu County, which is in a Carnian marine horizon in the Weiyuanjiang Formation of China.
