Tritoechia crassa

Taxonomy
Tritoechia crassa was named by Popov et al. (2001). Its type specimen is USNM 485064, a shell (conjoined valves), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 219. Uzunbulak Sector, which is in an Abereiddian marine sandstone in the Uzunbulak Formation of Kazakhstan.

Popov et al. 2001Shell strongly ventribiconvex, about 80 % as long as wide with Stilcate anterior commissure; ventral interarea high, steeply apsacline to catacline; dorsal sulcus shallow, originating at the umbo; chilidium well developed; radial ornament parvicostellate with 4-6 ribs per 3 mm along anterior margin; ventral muscle field slightly elongated, raised anteriorly; fine ventral median ridge meets anterior termination of adductor scars.
