Kozurella was named by Mostler (1972) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori-l Tr Nori-u Sepkoski's reference number: 982]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type is Kozurella formosa. It is the type genus of Kozurellidae.
It was assigned to Kozurellidae by Mostler (1972); and to Apodida by Sepkoski (2002).
