Strophomena antiquata woodlandensis was named by Reed (1917). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was misspelled as Katastrophomena woodlandens by Smelror et al. (1997); it was recombined as Katastrophomena woodlandensis by Jin and Chatterton (1997), Dewing (1999) and Huang and Rong (2010).
