Taxonomy
Westonia anrakhaica was named by Nikitina et al. (2006) [Westonia? anrakhaica]. Its type specimen is USNM 484942, a shell (conjoined valves), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 121. Eastern side of the Kopalysai valley, southern Chu-Ili Range, which is in an Abereiddian foreshore sandstone in the Uzunbulak Formation of Kazakhstan.
