Curvatella was named by Mostler (1971) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori-u Sepkoski's reference number: 982]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type is Curvatella spinosa.

It was assigned to Calclamnidae by Mostler (1971); and to Holothuroidea by Sepkoski (2002).
