Taxonomy
Cymatoceras savelievi was named by Shimansky (1975). Its type specimen is PIN 1619/128, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dzhaman-Sauran, Mangyshlak, which is in a Berriasian marine horizon in Kazakhstan.
