Archophiactis
Taxonomy
Archophiactis was named by Spencer (1927) [Sepkoski's age data: O Ashg Sepkoski's reference number: 2]. It is not extant. Its type is Archophiactis grayae. It is the type genus of Archophiactinidae. It was considered monophyletic by Dean Shackleton (2005).
It was assigned to Archophiactinidae by Spencer (1927), Owen (1965) and Spencer and Wright (1966); to Goniactinida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Rhopalocomidae by Dean Shackleton (2005).
