Taxonomy
Xenocheilus ulixis was named by Shimansky (1957). Its type specimen is LGU 103/101, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Verkhorechye, Crimea (LGU collection), which is in a Hauterivian/Barremian marine horizon in Ukraine.
