Taxonomy
Hercoglossa asiatica was named by Shimansky (1975). Its type specimen is PIN 2040/2, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shamli, Kopetdag, which is in a Danian marine horizon in Turkmenistan.
