Taxonomy
Eoactis was named by Spencer (1914) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov]. Its type is Eoactis simplex. It is the type genus of Eoactinidae.

It was synonymized subjectively with Urasterella by Schuchert (1915).

It was assigned to Palasterinidae by Owen (1965); to Eoactinidae by Spencer (1922) and Spencer and Wright (1966); to Uractinida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Euaxosida by Blake (2018).
