Taxonomy
Orthisina janischewskyi was named by Lessnikow (1924). It is the type species of Raunites, Rauna.

It was recombined as Rauna janischewskyi by Öpik (1932) and Opik (1934); it was recombined as Raunites janischewskyi by Williams et al. (2000).
