Taxonomy
Pseudoasaphus was named by Schmidt (1901) [Sepkoski's age data: O Llvi O Cara-l]. It is not extant. Its type is Ptychopyge globifrons.

It was assigned to Asaphinae by Henningsmoen (1960); to Asaphidae by Jaanusson (1953) and Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Asaphida by Sepkoski (2002).
