Taxonomy
Megalaspis formosa was named by Törnquist (1884). It is not extant. It is the type species of Pseudomegalaspis.

It was recombined as Pseudomegalaspis formosa by Jaanusson (1953); it was recombined as Pseudomegalaspis formosus by Henningsmoen (1960).
