Taxonomy
Cymatoceras honmai was named by Matsumoto and Miyauchi (1983). Its type specimen is MNH 144, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Location 2, Kiyohama-I, Cape Soya, which is in a Campanian marine sandstone in Japan.
