Taxonomy
Terebratula wilsoni was named by de Sowerby (1816). It is the type species of Sphaerirhynchia.

It was recombined as Sphaerirhynchia wilsoni by Cooper and Muir-Wood (1951) and Bassett and Cocks (1974).
