It was assigned to Valvatida by Sepkoski (2002); to Goniasteridae by Sladen (1889), Clark and Downey (1992) and Jagt et al. (2014); and to Pseudarchasteridae by Gale (2020).

Downey 1992A genus of Goniasteridae with stellate form; abactinal plates paxilliform, covered with rounded granules; one median row of abactinals extending to terminal, usually somewhat rectangular in shape and wider than long; adambulacral furrow margin angular; apical oral spine unpaired; no pedicellariae.
