Sucia was named by Blake (1973) [Sepkoski's age data: K Camp K Maes Sepkoski's reference number: 942]. It is not extant. Its type is Sucia suavis.

It was assigned to Goniasteridae by Blake (1973); to Valvatida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pseudarchasteridae by Gale (2020).
