Taxonomy
Eutrephoceras tawaense was named by Furuichi (1982). Its type specimen is Kagawa Natural Science Mus K-4-50, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tawa pit, Nagao-cho, Ookawa-gun (unit B), which is in a Campanian marine mudstone in the Nakato Shale Formation of Japan.
