Taxonomy
Parametacoceras venustum was named by Reed (1944). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is East of pt 2263, ESE of Chhidru, calcareous sandstone, K30.93-96, Salt Range, which is in a Changhsingian marine sandstone/marl in the Chhidru Formation of Pakistan.
It was recombined as Pleuronautilus venustus by Shimanskiy (1967).
