Strophomena undulosa was named by Roy (1941) [= Strophomena fluctuosa Troedsson 1928 p. 93, pl. 22, fig. 13.]. Its type specimen is YPM 28273 and is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Nasutimena undulosa by Jin and Zhan (2001).
