Taxonomy
Homoceras schartymense was named by Ruzhentsev and Bogoslovskaya (1978). Its type specimen is PIN 455/40085, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shartym River, Sample 1, Southern Urals, Chelyabinsk, which is in an Alportian offshore shelf limestone in the Russian Federation.
