Taxonomy
Decorites avus was named by Ruzhentsev and Bogoslovskaya (1978). Its type specimen is PIN 2195/3009, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Aravan River, SW of Yangi-Kurgan, 470 m east of Koksarau Mt., Sample 8, Fergana, which is in an Alportian/Kinderscoutian offshore shelf limestone in Uzbekistan.
