Antiquaster was named by Kesling (1971) [Sepkoski's age data: D Give-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Antiquasteridae by Kesling (1971); to Stenurida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Parophiurina by Blake (2013).
